Making Sense of the Sixties, Make-up discussion

Since Youtube has now made the clips for rent only, if you have not made-up the discussion yet, here is what you must do:

Write a brief essay, reflecting on the rise and decline of the Sixties counterculture. Discuss the idealism of the early Sixties and how the Sixties ended up in decline by the end of the decade. Comment on such things as the Hippies, relationships between students, parents and colleges and the idea of test limits and breaking barriers. Did the Sixties go too far?

This should be word-processed, about a page long and double spaced.

MAKING SENSE OF THE SIXTIES

On Friday, we watched a film about the Sixties counterculture. Then, we had a discussion. If you were not here on Friday, you will need to make this up by doing the following:

1. Watch the film. It is available online in two parts.

Part 1: Breaking Boundaries Testing Limits (Dawn of the 1960s Hippies)
Part 2: Breaking Boundaries Testing Limits I (What did the 60s Accomplish)

2. Type up a summary of the film. The summary needs to be at least 1/2 page long and contain the main points from both parts of the film. The more detail you have the more likely you will get full credit for the discussion.

The assignment is worth 25 points.

This summary can be turned it at any time and will count on both Miks' and Janu's grade.
